Do you hate it when you have money left on your MetroCard? Exact Fare is exactly what you need! Simply enter your current balance and Exact Fare will tell you how much money to add so your MetroCard doesn't have any money left. Buying a new card? Already have a $0 balance? No problem! Exact Fare will tell you how exactly much to money to put on. Why do I need Exact Fare? The MTA automatically adds an 11% bonus to the amount you put on your MetroCard, which is great, but they require all amounts be in 5 cent increments which makes is very difficult to calculate how much money you need. For example if you use the $20 shortcut at the machine you will get a total balance of $22.20. After 8 swipes you will be left with $0.20 on your MetroCard that is impossible to use. Exact Fare does the math for you and gives you five options for how much money to put on MetroCard so that you don't leave money behind.
